This new device is terrifying, if it’s really what they say it is.

A new nuclear warhead will have more than 10 independently targetting missiles, each of those missiles with thermal systems designed to evade incoming counterattacks from missile systems, and radii far exceeding the current record of 11,000 kilometers. No known missile shield can stop this nuclear warhead.

And the recent START treaty does nothing to forbid such new weapons technology. If Russia and NATO fail to come up with a joint missile shield in Eastern Europe, then the Russians will be forced to come up with their own in that region.

From experience I don’t trust governments with regards to anything they have to say especially when they do not back anything up and instead they claim clairvoyance (nothing in 40years will be able to match our missile!). What’s more it is from russian propaganda outlet. There is really little to no reason to believe this as true.

I don’t get what’s so futuristic about it. It’s just more nukes packed together in a rocket, right?

Churchill was right.

We should have continued heading east until we reached Moscow and saved the world a lot of trouble.

I hope our military engineers are still innovative and resourceful.

As Jonathan says, nothing new. Plus ICBMs are far from the most effective way to deliver nukes: concealed in normal merchandise,that’s unbeatable.

For that matter, why waste money on nukes when you can just dump some industrial byproduct in the water system?

Too difficult to pull off. Perhaps bombing some big dam would be even more disastrous than a nuke, but dams are few and far between.

Difficult? Water pumps are completely unguarded and unsurveilled.

Churchill was just being a politician. Much of Stalin’s success had depended upon Western backing, long before the war.
