I just checked out the website. Interesting Idea. They should try to market it to Libertarians (I’ve never heard of it). That way it will be easier for them to throw us in Jail.
As I recall, Kokesh was trying to lead, and the hardest thing to lead is a bunch of libertarian activists. I can’t remember who he was beefing with, but it was a real turn off, a lot of he said, she said crap.
It might be different now, I have no idea. I haven’t visited the site in months.
The whole thing with trying to create a meme is that either stick or they don’t. The white armband seems promising, but the fact that they haven’t gotten it to stick yet leads me to the conclusion probably won’t in the future either.
Kokesh is a great guy, don’t get me wrong. He was the one at the McCain presidential nomination during the Republican Convention holding up the “You can’t win an occupation” sign in the audience during McCain’s speech, he was on the front lines of the Iraq Veterans Against the War demonstration outside the final presidential debate when police charged their horses (literally) on top of the demonstrators, he was the guy who sparked the whole “tape-record your encounters with police” movement when he got tape evidence of his being roughed up by police and threatened by an FBI agent while in DC back in July 2008, he was the guy who publically chewed out Bob Barr during Barr’s counter-presser right after Barr ditched Ron Paul’s third-party press conference at the last minute, and he also gave one of the most crowd-pleasing speeches at the Ron Paul Rally for the Republic in Minneapolis.
The Slave Uprising thing was a good idea too, it just got bogged down with internal bickering and a lot of folks got turned off.
