So, relationship discussion anyone?

Same thing really.

What about… if… you consistently answered that you believe in Natural Law? Hahah [:)]

It’s just how I consciously perceive language. I see virtue, and I recall prudence, humility, and sincerity. I see character, I recall nothing.

That is bizarre, though not worthy of blowing up. Are you sure you don’t have a tendency for such ideas?

I aim for women that don’t think about politics at all. I hate politics, really. Last thing I need is more politics.

Thats a good idea too, but its nice to find someone who appreciates intellectual thought, and will be interested in what you think.

“Relax, emotional meanings in relationships are meaningless, so save yourself the heartache because you will be way better off, and its more important to find a good mother and good housewife”

What’s wrong with that? That’s what I would want in a wife. I’d love intelligence, and some compatibility, but my ability to live with her and family would be very important. Personally, I have problems getting into relationships, I’m the type who’s afraid of rejection. Until I get over that (or the fact that I always get rejected), or find a solution, I find my mixture of exercise, research, thinking and religion to be a working cocktail.

This is somethign I can’t help but despair over.

How the HELL am I going to ever get to know someone, if I get so nervous and over-analytical? I cant control it, I don’t how I am supposed to f’ing get anywhere.

Maybe you do get better at it, but by that point you will have missed a whole lifetime of potentially great relationships and companions.

I am loving this thread.[:P]

Lol! Exactly. It’s good to be naive idiots.

itunes + podcasts + freedomain radio + scan podcasts + download ones that relate to you.

I used to be like that. Well not nervous. I would just talk about something they weren’t interested in.

You shouldn’t worry that most girls aren’t into that. Most chicks (people) are completely braindead both intellectually and spiritually. You don’t want to try to change yourself to be more mainstream because you’ll never be happy with mrs. vanilla. Don’t blame yourself. Its just statistically unlikely that you’ll find a girl who appreciates that kind of thing, but when you do it will have been worth it.

Really, people are totally worthless. Totally and completely worthless. In person I’ve met maybe 3 people who don’t roll around in the cesspool that is modern culture. Just relax and enjoy life. There are so many beautiful music books movies out there. I can link you some if you give me your tastes/interests.

It was hard for me to acknowledge this before I got into a serious relationship because I was insecure with myself. Now, I don’t really care that most girls don’t want to hear what I have to say because they’re not worth my time. Also bodybuilding helped with my self image, though mainly around other men. It’s kind of primitive but you kind of get alpha male status if you’re the biggest :P. I noticed a lot more female attention after I started.

Quoted for the truth. Your right, just work on yourself, work out, build muscle, lose weight if you want, there is plenty of beautiful and interesting things to fill your time with and any so called void you feel.

I think the most important thing for a relationship, is that you have similar values. This would apply to both your religious and political views. Not only that, but your activities. When you say you need an intelligent girl, I would assume you mean someone who is willing to question her reality, or has already questioned her reality and decided anarchism is best. If so, then I would completely agree. But those kind of people are 1 in a 1000, literally.

I did not meet my wife until I decided I did not care if I lived by myself the rest of my life. Living by myself was preferable to living in misery with someone I did not like.

I would say take a philosophy class and see if there are any girls in the class that “get it”.

Naturaly, and by “can cook” we actually mean being able to fix a sandwitch.

I don’t think this is such a good idea. If you base your relationship on identical values and desires for both spouses, there’s no room left for individual growth and change.

But people do change. If you don’t let them, it’ll often end with a nasty blow at some point. And I’m afraid there won’t always be change in tandem.

IMO, much better than sharing all the same values is a sensitive debating style that doesn’t make your significant others feel like you’re belittling them for not agreeing with you. Not everyone’s turned on by an “I haz upjective tr00th” mentality. [:P]

How long do you think a relationship will last if one person is pro-life and the other is pro-choice, and they get pregnant, and the pro-choice person wants to abort the baby? How long do you think a relationship will last if one person thinks people go to hell for drinking, and the other does not and drinks? Lastly, are you married? If so, how long? I have been married for six years, and I can tell you from experience, that having similar values has made our marriage almost argument free, as such, fight free and it has been wonderful.

Well, you’re clearly more experienced than I am. No marriage here.

To be honest, I was just giving educated guesses that I haven’t had the opportunity to try in an actual relationship, so let’s put a big “CAUTION” before my neophyte advice. [:)]

It wasn’t until recently that I realized that not everyone is as bright/smart/whatever as my public school teachers told me.

Agreed.
