Wow. I am in absolute disbelief that this was in favor of a “pro green” position. I still don’t actually believe that is the case. If it is, this is just insanity.
Though on a semantic quibble, I may bracket this under “Schumpeter intellectual” than “totalitarian mindset”

What kind of people are these? Whom are we up against? This is how they think? They dreamed this up? “Hey, we’ll have a classroom, little kids, a goofy teacher, then she pushes a button and splatters blood and guts all over the classroom. I’ll be great!” If you don’t obey us, fine, your choice. Boom. I’ll be great!

The people who put this together designed it for the internet, they must have known it would be pulled from T.V. Millions of kids will watch it. “Your choice” has a whole new meaning now.
Hopefully, their effort will backfire when kids see totalitarianism on display. A new generation of libertarians to spring forth?
It seems they want to move beyond the “Green” label and would rather we just refer to them as “Red”.
I thought the video was satirical at first, but am not entirely shocked that it wasn’t. At least we don’t have to read into their true motives since they’re now willing to wear it on their sleeves.
Or executing dissidents becomes the new standard.

However I must add something. Environmentalism need not per se be misanthropic nor statist nor anti-industry.

I wonder how many people die every year due to the economic policies inspired by environmental activists.
The odd thing is- there we 2 students, 4 in the office, 1 on the soccer field and 1 in the radio station-

Didn’t you know environmentalists can’t count? They put all the numbers into a fancy computer model and it tells them the world is going to end next Thursday.
It occurred to me that this tactic was used by the Khmer Rouge communists in Cambodia. It was portrayed in the movie “The Killing Fields”.
The commies were “re-educating” the population. A group of about one hundred adults were gathered in a tent for “training”. Someone stood up, or raised a hand in disagreement with the “teacher”. A plastic bag was then tied around his head, and he was led out of the tent, never to be seen again. The tactic left quite an impression on the “students”.
Later in the film, the killing fields were discovered. Skeletons, with bags tied around the head were found by the thousands, with bullet holes through the brain.
This video is like that scene from the movie. The makers of the video intentionally splattered blood and guts all over everyone who agreed, just to make the right impression on them.
I think the video makers were inspired by the Khmer Rouge. This is an interesting article, especially how the Khmer Rouge got its start, their objective, and their tactics. It will turn your stomach as much as the video did, except this really happened.
