Things I could do without government

Sounds like I will get one final screwing from Uncle Sam on his way out the door.

Maybe I will just hang out at starbucks getting high with kingmonkey.

I will definately sell my extra kidney on eBay.

What makes you think Starbucks or Ebay would let you do those things?

Customer demand. I’m sure similar businesses will if these ones wont.

What makes you think they’d exist in a free market.

There’s no reason they wouldn’t or couldn’t.

There’s no reason the necessarily would either.

You’re assuming that the government, having been brought to such a low position where they would even consider liquidating their assets, would have any control over the process. I don’t think that would be the case.

They would most likely be doing it to pay their debts in a frantic attempt to avoid retributive violence, not to try and give the people one last butt-screw on their way down.

OH, and I’ve got a good one.

I work at Heinz Field during the football season in one of the concession stands. At the end of every game, our stand has an average of 30 hot dogs, 10 hot sausages, and 16 personal-size pizzas left over. There are 24 stands in the stadium with similar amouns of spoilage, and that doesn’t count the various kiosks and specialty stands, and the club levels. Aramark (the staffing company who hires groups to work the stands) is forced to throw it all in the garbage because of the PA Deparment of Health, who apparently thinks it’s better for homeless and impoverished people to starve than to maybe eat a bad hotdog (while in the meantime they pick through garbage cans for food).

Without the government, I would take all that food and solve the problem of hunger in the city of Pittsburgh.

If such a problem even existed without the government, that is.

MacFall, I sent you two messages, you haven’t replied.

Per Pittsburgh, why don’t you stir things up by fleshing what you wrote here out, and submitting it to a newspaper in the letter to the editor section. At the very least, it will point out the absurdity of the PA Dept of Health, which is great for encouraging people to stop thinking the state will solve all problems.

I would be more inclined to set up service (aka business) because I would not be TAXED for

  1. employee salaries/benefits

  2. profit made

  3. owning property (house/land)

  4. or not allowed to conduct a business from my home

Also the only concern I would have for which service I choose to place my MOE (media of exchange) would be the solvency of that organization which would be MY responsibility to check out.

I would not have to deal with intrusive people who (mistakenly) believe that my funds, life and property are ‘fair game’ for THEIR needs.

Oh the JOY! - Jain
