My high school son is tasked with writing a paper on the TVA controversy and whether the government should compete with the private sector. He is looking for online books or papers that analyse the topic from both a historical and economic perspective. A quick search did not yield anything terribly useful. Can anyone point to a substantive analysis of the topic with good historical documentation? The material should be available online as this is, as usual, a rush job. TIA.
Unfortunately Economics in One Lesson (which he has read) only has a slight mention of TVA on one line. Strangely I could find no in-depth article on Mises, but did find a few things on FEE. However, the ideal book appears to be “The TVA Idea” by Dean Russell, and it’s available on Amazon’s very long tail.
