Also, today was a government holiday in Norway, apparently, so the body count was not as high as it otherwise would have been. Who bombs a government building on a government holiday?
Who goes to an island to do a shooting? Isn’t it obvious you are certain to be caught?
This is a very fishy event, in my opinion. Lots of oddities.
Getting caught doesn’t seem to be a huge concern for spree shooters, many off themselves anyway. An island seems like a perfect location for a spree shooter from the point of view that the victims have nowhere to run.
The bloodiest spree shooting ever until this one was a 1982 spree killing in South Korea perpetrated by a policeman in a uniform who used it to put people at ease and get close to them. Obviously a police uniform is a handy thing to have for a spree shooter.
Also the perpetrator recently went into farming business which would be handy for a person who wanted to buy enough fertilizer for an AnFo bomb without raising eyebrows.
So far everything fits. There is no need for conspiracy theoretizing as of jet.
The more interesting thing to me is how the war-propagandists jumped the gun with the ‘damn Jihadist are at it again’ and tried to steer it in the direction of ‘why would anyone attack as peaceful state as Norway’ as if it weren’t involved in two wars and some actually invoked the Danish Mohammed cartoons from 5 years ago as the motivation (and not the freaking wars!).

Whatever the story behind it, this is really sad and really weird.
First of all I’d like to say I hope all our Norwegian members (I know there are a few) are safe and sound.
Second, while I tend not to subscribe to themost exotic conspirancy theories the first thing everybody started screaming was “Islamist terror attack!”. Obama was particularly shameful since instead of extending his condolescences to the country of Norway immediately went on to rant and rave about the “necessity to continue the War on Terror”. I know he’s a very busy man but he has literally hundreds of aides: you’d think somebody would have told him to wait, I don’t know, a couple of hours for the first bits of news to come through before going through the usual “terrorists must be stopped” routine.
Third. I almost want to believe this is the “lone nut” scenario but the first thing that popped into my mind was “Oklahoma City”. We’ll never know the truth.
The culprit was an ethnic norwegian, caucasian, conservative, nationalist, anti-multiculturalist etc. The bombing might`ve been a diversion/political statement. From where I was working it sounded like thunder, and the weather was such that I did not suspect something else.
The bomb went off in an area where a lot of people, yours truly included, pass through from time to time. E.g., one of the gyms yours truly goes to is just inside the temporary no public access area.

There have been reports that Israel is gonna attack Iran in order to disrupt the UN vote on the 1967 borders. and Obama used it immidiately to disparage any peace attempts…it’s getting to be too much.
I live in Portland, OR and we had an attempted bombing of this nature that our heroic FBI magically swooped in and stopped.

Why is it that only a private citizen could be crazy enough to carry out a politically-motivated bombing but it could not possibly have been the work of misanthropic, sociopathic Elites hell-bent on maintaining their grip on power in the face of eroding popular support and growing cracks in the myth of representative government - what Brzezinski has termed the “global political awakening”? I don’t get it.
Brzezinski, i doubt, meant anything about people waking up to the power elite. But he does state in his book “between two ages” “that organized crime is preferrable to anarchic violence.” So he probably would endorse this sort of thing if it does come from that angle.
Savage may well be right in that it is a rogue political actor that is mad at the labor party. I tend to think that … plans these things all the time. If you look at th 93 WTC bombing, the FBI was trying to frame an egyptian, OKC: they framed a white guy that didn’t lke the gov. cuz of waco and ruby ridge. Then we can LOOK at waco and ruby ridge and see how the government entraps people and destroys evidence.

It’s very real, it just doesn’t happen in the sci-fi way depicted in movies. Most people form their ideas about the way the world works primarily on the basis of their own experiences. By controlling headlines and headline events, it is possible to shape what people believe about the way the world works. This is the Wizard of Oz routine… hide behind the curtain and pull levers to impart a perception of a permanent, unalterable world order filled with boogey men that would destroy society overnight if not for the eternally vigilant forces of good that keep them in check. People will even tolerate open tyranny if their understanding of the way the world works is sufficiently skewed. The TSA porno-scanners are a good example of this principle in action.
This is why it is so important for the news to talk about the world in terms of ideologies and popular uprisings because these things are impersonal forces that cannot have self-seeking motives. An Islamic fanatic is not trying to get rich and live the high life, he’s just evil and wants to force other people to do things his way. This is very much like how comic book villains behave. They’re not trying to get rich or live luxuriously. They don’t care about wealth or enjoying life’s pleasures. Invariably, they’re ascetics. Instead, they are motivated by pure evil - an inexplicable and purposeless determination to cause suffering. The revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, etc. cannot conceivably be the result of purposeful action because they involve millions of people randomly running around doing whatever. Hence, their outcomes cannot be suspected to serve any individual’s or organization’s interests. This is also how comic book storylines proceed… “the races of the Alpha sector of the Gamma quadrant had become restless and demanded liberalization of trade agreements with their Beta sector neighbors - the evil Trade Syndicate had no choice but to grant their wishes to prevent further rioting.”
I can hardly even read the headlines anymore without feeling that my intelligence is being insulted.
