There have been so many instances where the judges make very bizzare decisions. This is happened so many times now, that Dana White has a saying that he posts in the UFC gym in Las Vegas on the wall that says “Never Leave it In The Hands of the Judges”.
I’m watching a UFC episode right now, and I’m looking at Dana looking over at the judges nervously wondering what bizzare decision will come from them. the judes that i see in this episode are two middle aged white ladies. I do know that the judges are government employees and not employees of the UFC.

From my understanding the judges are appointed by the states athletic commissions. I beleive that the vast majority of the judges have backgrounds in boxing.
Their lack of experience in grappling helps explain some of the wide variations in scoring.
I also understand that the athletic commisions of the various states tend to be highly corrupt.
thank you. There must be a reason Dana White seems so unhappy with the judges, although, i see that his hands are tied as he cannot provide fair judges for the company he wants to grow.
People freak out when you say, don’t let the state control the judges let the sport. They immediately think it’ll be corrupt.
they forget that it would be in the UFC’s best interest to find and maintain the fairest, best judges. They cannot understand that simple concept.

Its amazing to me as well. State control of boxing has led to an incredible amount of corruption in the sport. The corruption is one reason why boxing has fallen out of favor with the american public.
