MMA judging would benefit tremendously of private judgers, who actually know about MMA and is able to appreciate it’s subtle aspects.
why does the UFC use the Nevada Athletic Commision in the first place?
If they were not sanctioned by the state what would happen? Could they hold the fight without the sanction? And use their own private judges?
It seems to me that the UFC has much more motivation to make sure the fights get scored fairly than some government employee.
Well, it would affect their credibility and make a case againsst MMA, that still is prohibited in some states.

Interesting. What about rules of the UFC. Limiting it to 3 rounds, etc. Are those rules the UFC created or government forced upon them?
