It’s pretty obvious they don’t, but I’ve never understood exactly why. I don’t think they’re cartelized because they’re cable (in other words, the FCC doesn’t have control over them). If that’s wrong, correct me.
The only reason I can think of is that they’ll be discredited due to all the pro-state lies they’ve spread. But could that alone cause their profits to go down?

The MSM are bascially mouthpieces for the elite. The elite want the status quo. And (evidently), people will be moved to actually defend the status quo which hurts them, and argue on the side of those who would steal from them, thanks to little else than ignorance and indoctrination.

It sounds like you’re under the impression that the regulators in government have “control” of the industries they enact regulations for. Not to sound rude, but that’s pretty naïve.
That’s not really what I was asking. It sounded like he thought that the FCC didn’t have jurisdiction over cable companies and I was wondering if that were true (and I don’t think it is). Obviously the FCC doesn’t dictate the programming in the news business FDR-style, but they do exert some authority because you need an FCC license which can be revoked at their discretion and you are subject to fines. I realize that “newbie libertarians” will try to look for the government agency which gives the magic answer: Yes, the government is cartelizing industry to the benefit of the fatcats! I presume that is what you’re projecting on me.
To be honest I’m curious and mostly ignorant about the FCC and the scope of it’s abilities. If anyone here is knowledgeable about their activities, they didn’t post in my threads but I would be glad if they spoke up.
