It violates some to protect others. It’s a trade off. Nothing is free. That being said, it doesn’t get free license to just violate any rights it wants. We have a democratic system whereby the people choose which rights they’re willing to trade for other ones. Unfortunately, right now people are convinced that healthcare is a right. It’s annoying.

Chloe, there was no one to protect the Jews. Not all the Jews who were murdered were German Jews. There were Jews all over the place. Since the diaspora, we’d been a people without a home. No state. So we had no guaranteed rights, no guaranteed home. There was nowhere to deport us to and hence the Jewish question became a central issue in Nazi ideology. Yes, Hitler was elected. That goes to show how wrong democracies CAN go. The masses don’t always elect a Hitler though. But they can.
I’m annoyed because I think their premises are flawed. But again, if it’s the will of the people, I’ll deal with it. I think we should try to overturn the bill. That’s the democratic way to go about solving this problem.
