Basically peter joseph declares there is no such thing as human nature - everything comes through education. He sais thinking in terms of money comes from scarcity-based thought and he advocates for using the scientific method to abolish scarcity and determine how to best use the resources.
Alex jones sais whether we like it or not, we have behavior instilled in us by genetics, he advocates decentralisation and free markets - people doing whatever they want on their own property.

telling people to open their eyes while using the same propoganda techniques that those in power use to manufacture consent and spread ignorance is unacceptable.
Could be simply a pragmatic move on his part. If he were to announce his conversion to ancap on his show, some would question his sanity. It is still considered quite radical. For all we know, he does believe it (surely, he’s at least heard of it).
I laughed so hard watching this video of Alex Jones vs. Peter Joseph. My favorite part is when Alex say something “you’re this higher pot head alien and I’m this lower neanderthal down here…” making fun of the way Peter speaks calmly etc.
It’s pathetic when both of them try to slam Wal-Mart, and when Peter says that monopolies are a matter of time. Yeah, they are a matter of time if you have the Leviathan to put them in place, it isn’t a natural consequence of free market as he puts it. And it doesn’t matter trying to be all philosophical and psycho-social about it, the reality is: free market does not naturally generate monopolies (especially in the way they talk about, the so called evil monopoly). In a society with total free market, based on property rights, there is no way the so called evil monopoly can come about. Read Human Action people, there is no way.
Also the whole let’s abolish money thing with the Zeitgeist guy. Seriously? You gotta put those resource economy guys on the same room with Lew Rockwell ASPA!!
Yes and his belief that the Illuminati rules the world and will soon eliminate 95% of the population never makes anyone question his sanity. The simpler explanation is that he’s a paleocon.
That occured to me after I wrote that post. There are always conspiracy theory types, he is just another in a long line of them. But I still think going fill blown anarchist would be worse in the eyes of his sponsers (who, ultimately, he has to satisfy).
That said, I agree with you. He’s a paleocon with some libertarian sympathies.
Don’t the Genesis people back FTL? I know at least that they did for some time. I doubt very much that Jones is worried about his sponsors - he’s got a fanatical fanbase and I’d be shocked if 75% of them did not immediately switch to anarcho-capitalism if he came out in support of it.
I think Jones is just stuck in his populist nationalism, that’s why he can’t give up the State. He’s a protectionist and an anti-immigration zealot. He’s scared of big business because he thinks everyone ever associated with big business is plotting against the rest of us.
