Have you signed up to be a member of the Ludwig von Mises Institute? I did at my first conference in San Francisco and believe me it is certainly worth doing. I received a lovely pamphlet ‘The Free Market Reader’ every month with articles by our favorite scholars. Not only are you helping to advance the cause of liberty and helping bolster the funds at LvMi which make things like this forum possible but they also give back to you writings ablaze with intellect, begging to be read and disseminated. Oh sure, that’s the idea. we just ordered the card printer on Friday. Pricey piece of equipment actually but the results will be great.

Have you guys draw up a design or are you open to input? An interesting image would be three busts maybe in the center or in the upper left of Mises, Rothbard and Hayek. Have the words Ludwig von Mises Institute Membership Card on the bottom. Or maybe personalize the card to the interests of people like have an economics card, a history card, a philosophy card etc. Maybe have the Virgil creedo at the top or maybe ‘Peace, Property, Liberty’

Add-on: Or maybe a card specifically with Mises, Rothbard, Hayek and other notables like on the T-shirts. Plus you can get specific quotes like under the bust. That would be really cool.

Yea it is a rough economic time. It is tax-deductible if that helps any.

I signed up at the mises circle in Bellevue WA. I am happy and have my first FreeMarket Publication.

Basic membership gets you access to Mises U. next summer right? I was thinking of joining in the next couple months and attending.

What do people like me, who are not Americans, get from the membership? It’s doubtful if I’d ever visit the US.[:O]

You help fund the institute to make things like the forum possible. The daily articles, the blogs, the forum, this is all due to charitable donations. So by becoming a member you are helping that, which is helping the cause of liberty in a way, and you get the Free Market Reader. You may feel it is a small difference or perhaps a big difference but the point is that by helping the institute you are making a difference.

I’ve been enjoying the FreeMarket pamphlet for several months and I plan to renew. I also purchased some cool calendars to give out as Christmas presents to my liberty-loving sibs.
