You ever think about doing something equivalent to the University of Phoenix, i.e. long-distance/online learning? I mean providing coursework and exams for online students, or perhaps working with Auburn University to design classes with recognized credits?

A lot of people were talking about that in a previous thread. Lilburne also wrote a nice piece about the discussion in his blog, if you are interested to read it I can provide a link. It would certainly help the institute grow. I mean I would take the courses accredited or not just so I can see the teaching styles of the LvMi faculty. It would be great experience for someone getting into academia to see how libertarian principles are adapted to educational presentation. What do you think?

I agree. I think that establishing accredited courses would allow students to have the opportunity to take an LVMI course in lieu of a course at their university. Both graduate and postgraduate students have limited time on their hands so the ability to have an LVMI course count towards their diploma would be a good thing in my opinion. That and the ability of the LVMI to grant BAs and MAs in subjects such as Economics and History would be an added bonus as well. And doing it online would allow people from over the world to take advantage of this. As a side note perhaps the LVMI should consider collaborating with the Open University in the UK.

I’m currently in the process of getting my associates in engineering/drafting and design. I thought about taking economics courses after I’m done with my engineering classes for the hell of it, but I’m skeptical on the teachers, and what they’ll be teaching (Keynesianism is almighty, most likely). I think it would be interesting (and very informative) if people could take online classes from the LVMI (and maybe even take courses with some of their favorite authors!)

Well like I said, we previously had a discussion about this and when the point comes up there is usually positive feedback and interest.

Diggin’ this. I previously had my Mises downloads as genre: vocal and in music, to organise.

Now I’ve moved them all to ItunesU and can sync real well with my shuffle.

Minor issue though; some of the authors names have typo’s (too many spaces in the name)… i.e Austrian Scholars Conference 2009.
