Some choice quotes from anarcho-capitalists (from the Mises Forum)

These were all apparently taken from here:

http://francoistremblay.wordpress.com/2009/01/21/some-choice-quotes-from-anarcho-capitalists/

I don’t think all of them are real though, because I googled some, and it didn’t come from the forum, just two blogs.

The comments are hilarious though:

"“anarcho capitalist movement”

BWAHAHAHAH OMFG OMFG HAHAHA slaps knee HAAAAA cough HAHAHAAAHAHA wheeze HAHA… HA… HAHAHAHAH!!!

I would love to see an “anarcho” capitalist rally, a bunch of rich white teenagers and a few rich, white, bourgeois economists."

Yep, cause I’m a rich and white. (sarcasm)

If it’s not already obvious, I disagree with all these quotes, and I’m sure most anarchocapitalist members here would also.

I bet most of those quotes came from Liberte. She’s such a rebel.

I hear Robert Murphy’s swimming in Federal Reserve Notes.

Damn those anarcho-capitalists are pretty f****d up. We should kill them all.

Oh I shouldn’t say that, they’ll quote me and use it against me! o noes D:

https://forum.freecapitalists.org/t/critics-against-libertarianism-in-revleft/10635

The quotes come from the likes of Liberte, Gil, Bloom, etc etc. [trolls]

The quote compilers fallacy is that anyone posting on mises.org is an anarcho-capitalist. Not smart.

And when those people are, like Spidey - they often have positions that only that person does, not the rest of the anarcho-capitalist community (eg. the quotes on children generally come from him)

And if they were doing quotes on IP, they’d go use Strangers quotes.

Stay classy, Conza.

Will do.

Where are they? I guess they’ve already got their daily dose of “lulz” from elsewhere.

In any case this bears repeating:

“Because quote-mining out of context is a good argument…” - Jon Irenicus

They are all fake. Someone actually made all these up to hate on us. Really, try google any one of them. Either two blogs come up, the one listed and polycentric order. The only time this forum comes up is if one of the quotes are quoted in the thread that conza just posted. This an all time low, and very pathetic attempt to bad mouth us.

And damn do they hate our guts. I don’t think ancaps despise other anarchists in this way (unless they are those black bloc vandalist scum). Just look at those comments.

when you can’t refute, quote out of context.

“They are all fake.”

Nope. Use this sites search instead.

“These people (tribal or less developed cultures) simply aren’t capable of rational argumentation, and therefore have no rights, whether this is biological or cultural makes no differences.” - unknown

“The fact is they often cannot be brought within the division of labour and without any concept of property rights it’s impossible that they own anything. Moreover they have no legitimate claim to any of this territory and as such it’s free to be homesteaded.” - unknown

“Anarcho capitalism and anarchism are synonomous. Anything that can’t be subsumed under anarcho capitalism, is internally inconsistant, and needs to be thrown out.” - Giles Stratton

“Opposition to the family and church sounds somewhat Marxist to me, any libertarian society will be founded upon those two institutions so in a sense yes, one does need to be a cultural conservative to be a libertarian.” - unknown

“The state by it’s very nature is egalitarian in the widest sense of the word” - Giles Stratton

“A system of feudal holdings all competing with each other for human and fiscal capital stacks up pretty good against a system whereby the parasitic majority lives off the productive minority.” - Byzantine

I’d like to apologise to Liberte and Bloom, I am so sorry you guys didn’t make the list. I’m sure if it was updated you would. Brainpolice - you fail at intellectual honesty.

Anyway, there is at least some context now… choice quotes from an individual who later requested a name change (due to shame of what he had previously posted?), the other got banned / left, and the other removed his account entirely (so the unknown quotes are all probably his).

It would be a positive estimate if there were more than 5,000 anarcho-capitalists across the world, so I wonder why they have started to get so much blogger attention.

Remember, estimates have shown that even classical liberals or libertarians are no more than 200,000 in number in the entire North America, and they still get so much press.

Thank you, Milton Friedman.

EDIT: And ironically, Europe is full of liberals and various Liberal Parties, but they get zero attention in European press. Even Guido Westerwelle is barely mentioned in Der Spiegel.

Honestly people, I posted this a year and a half ago, and you find out about it just now?

None of the quotes were gleaned from me. I got them from somewhere else, as it says at the end of my entry.

I think most “ancaps” would agree with most of these quotes- in fact I agreed with most of them when I was an “ancap” myself. Mises forum, in my opinion, is mostly a hiding place for right-wing fogeys, and young propertarians who think they’re radical when they are just repeating Rothbard’s mistakes. Nothing worth making a fuss about. I just posted the quotes to point and laugh, basically.

Prateek:

2,000,000 million votes for Ron Paul in the primaries… so you’re way off base. And that’s just the US & those who vote.

Worldwide support was intense.

Essentially everyone who comes to libertarianism these days and begins to take Austrian Economics seriously at some point [most Ron Paul supporters], make it the way through to the logical conclusion of classical liberalism - i.e anarcho-capitalism.

Francois:

“I think most “ancaps” would agree with most of these quotes- in fact I agreed with most of them when I was an “ancap” myself.”

That’s right, you were an “ancap” - not an actual anarcho-capitalist. At least you’re honest about it. I disagree with pretty much every single quote.

“Mises forum, in my opinion, is mostly a hiding place for right-wing fogeys, and young propertarians who think they’re radical when they are just repeating Rothbard’s mistakes.”

Your opinion is worthless considering your only experience of this community are out of context quotes, and one thread where you openly avoid debate and discussion - then run away (or had gathered the sources you were looking for and decided to depart).

The quotes that you believe to represent this community are taken from three notorious people, none of which are here any longer for various reasons. [Banned? or left / Removed account / Requested name change]

What were Rothbard’s mistakes? [Amuse me, please?]

“Nothing worth making a fuss about. I just posted the quotes to point and laugh, basically.”

That’s cool, it’s clearly just a manifestion of your level of intellectual rigour.

That’s probably why you’re no longer an ancap. You never understood the position to begin with.

Your blog, in my opinion, is mostly a hiding place for left-wing hacks, and closet psychopaths who think they’re cool because their ideology is the easiest to defend. Nothing worth a serious conversation. I just posted this quote in case you really did take yourself seriously, and thought you could dispense with the educated ancaps by quoting the uneducated ones, basically.

Nice, now I’m getting “you weren’t a true ancap” arguments. And you call ME illogical? Good work, imbeciles, you sound like fundamentalist Christians now. Keep digging that hole.

I’ve already exposed your ideology in plenty of entries on my blog, seeing you guys freak out over these quotes is just the cherry on the sundae.

“Your blog, in my opinion, is mostly a hiding place for left-wing hacks, and closet psychopaths”

Wow, way to project what I just said and make it completely bizarre. Closet psychopaths? What the hell is wrong with you? Oh wait, I forgot, you’re a capitalist.

The fact that you think free market capitalists would agree with all those quotes points to you being ignorant. You don’t understand the position, and yet you bash it. That’s arrogance.

I have heard of plenty of so called left anarchists becoming free market anarchists, as myself, but the other way around?

Apparently, most of us don’t read your blog, nor care about it.

Most of those quotes are by a non-anarcho-capitalist, namely Giles Stratton.

Do you have any proof?

This reminds of when someone implied that Grayson Lilburne, this forum’s chief admin, was a Christian conservative from the South when, in reality, he is an atheist from San Francisco who has gay friends. Lol. Btw, Francois, quit the insults.

Now I’m interest. I’ll read some of those entries.

Hmmm, I wouldn’t worry too much about quote bombs from a public forum that construct no argument. I also wouldn’t be suprised if the person who wasted time doing this is some religously/politicaly/morally possesed person who has no desire for discussion.

“no desire for discussion”

I do love discussion. Just not with capitalists. Sorry.

As for entries on my blog against capitalism, here is a good list: http://francoistremblay.wordpress.com/category/anarchist-theory/anti-capitalismusurystv/

Feel free to object on any of those, if you want, and I’ll answer. But whining about a list of quotes? Get a life.
