This. My opponents frequently try to make it about me or my style (an aesthetic) and rarely my arguments. It’s a non-argument, and generally a big waste of all of our time.
I was reading up on Tim Ferriss who is sympathetic to the ideas of the stoics, and he had a list of principles for dealing with haters, and they are quite good in my opinion.
