Something I’ve been learning on guitar.
A band with some interesting meaning. The name is taken from the psuedonym of an author writing some political letters to the Public Advertiser, an 18th century English newspaper, about the government infringing their rights. Secondly, the album this particular song is from is inspired by the writings of Immanuel Velikovsky.
Also, the music is set over scenes from Frankenstein. It’s pretty awesome. Typical shoegaze/post-rock stuff.

I’ll listen to Burzum, but it’s not something I’m big on, but I do like the music (haven’t heard the new album yet). If Varg Vikernes wasn’t such an idiot I’d probably like his band a bit more.
When it comes to black metal I find myself listening to more of the shoegaze/black metal stuff that’s been coming out now (I’ve seen it called either hipster black metal or “blackgaze”) or some DSBM (Coldworld, Sombres Forêts, Gris, etc.). Agalloch is one of my favorites if that says anything.
You’re kind of right, but you’re also misled a little. There are some punk bands that are into the whole collectivist state of mind: Refused comes to mind really quick. The first set of lyrics to their song Worm of the Senses is “I’ve got a bone to pick with capitalism, and a few to break.”
But there are also some bands who might lean towards a Libertarian mindset, like the band Strike Anywhere. Russia Today did a 10 minute interview with the lead singer, where he said that they might be considered Left-leaning Libertarians. Anti-Flag also comes to mind. They seem to be a little more left oriented, but with Libertarian tendencies. I’m sure there are a ton of others, but it’s really a mixed bag when it comes to punk.
This is fun question for me as I’m actually a composer of classical music. My favorite composers are Tchaikovsky, Chopin and Beethoven. I really love all music though, except some forms of rap that I’ve heard, which sound more like spoken poetry because its melody is quite monotone. I’ve never really heard a pro capitalist song. Musicians are usually romantics, but anyway good music is emotion, not logic, so capitalist music would proably sound horrible.
If anyone is interested I just started a youtube channel, that attempts to explain Austrian Economics in a humorous manner.

I actually find this music rather uplifting. It all depends on context I suppose. Wolves in the Throne Room have a very positive and “spiritual” outlook on life that contrasts with other black metal bands. The same can be said of Agalloch. I don’t expect everyone (or anyone) to understand the lyrics, but when I saw them live I was effin ecstatic they opened with this song.

I don’t mean any harm by it. I just want to attract people from various forums and various points of view together for discussion. This video is on free trade and I’m making these to help promote Ron Paul. I’m not looking for any monetary gain and I just put it at the end of my post to give people the option.
