In the movie Shoah, a former concentration camp officer told the filmmaker that when they commanded some of the Jewish people in Treblinka to haul away the many bodies of those dead from illness or worse (right in the early days), many of them bluntly said they’d rather be shot. Now, everybody wanted to be rid of corpses that were causing stenches across a large range, but many of the detainees did not want to give an undignified treatment to the dead bodies of one of their own. So the camp guards themselves cleaned up the corpses, and had to physically force the few of the Jewish detainees who were even remotely willing into helping them.
However, all modern Jews would have had to descend from those that didn’t convert.

True, although after many centuries, I suspect that a family whose Jewish ancestors converted to Christianity would have forgotten their Jewish identity, and thus wouldn’t be counted as Jewish as far as anyone knows.

The guards were young boys, who were bluffing. When each new set of recruits for camp guard arrived, they all sat down on their suitcases and sobbed quietly. They were emotionally quite weak for that job, being young teenagers or very young men, and could not bear the incredible stench of Treblinka, the nauseating nature of their job, the filth in which they would have to conduct their long hours of duty, and the terrible toxic gas that came out from the ground through the soil and into the air.
Of course, in time, some of them hardened into the worst sort of killers, but their superiors knew that young men are emotionally weak - nobody was assigned the full set of tasks. Each only did a small part, without having to directly participate in killing - almost everybody but the main man in charge of the camp was off the hook.

It’s not something that involves a complex discussion. A Jew is a Jew by blood. You can find a Jewish atheist, he’s still a Jew. I don’t know what’s with this forum and it’s problem with accepting the Jewish ethnicity.

Jews can have any skin color ranging from pale to dark brown. There is no scientific instrument or test to measure “jewishness” or to detect those who are “jew by blood”, because these terms are devoid of objective meaning. There is no Jewish gene.

I don’t take anything on the History Channel seriously. Especially on Nazism. Run a show on emotion and myths, and get ratings and a crowd.

And, any honest truth-seeking person would have titled the post differently. Something like;
Why were jews accused/detained?
And what were the real conditions of the detention camps where they were detained?
And, is it true that they had swimming pools, perform music, theater and were put to work only after the war like the rest of the country?
And is it true the Red-Cross visited the camps?
And is it true the 6 million number was used in WW1 in exact the same way but was forgotten in the press?
A honest person would start from the beginning, listening to both sides and trying to fix the pieces of the puzzle, never in the middle. If you don’t know why they were detained and what that meant, what place were they being taken to, you won’t understand anything ever.
I doubt this is true. Although I would agree that most Jews can spot a Jew on physical appearances, but also that most Koreans can spot a Korean on physical appearances and that most black people can spot other black people on physical appearance.
