Why does the liberal media hate Sarah Palin?

I don’t think she is any different than all the other politicians, so why does the liberal media hates her so much? What do you think?

Perhaps because a republican woman for president would take some of their liberal vote, like no grumpy conservative candidate could? Its a preemptive strike.

She’s just an easy target.

  • I don’t think the media are so organized and sophisticated to laugh at Palin because of concerns for democratic votes.

  • Why is she an easy target?

She’s a white Alaskan redneck with a funny accent, a retarded baby, a unmarried teen-mom daughter, and she claims the geographic vacinity of her home state to Russia gives her some kind of foreign policy cred. She can’t name one Supreme Court decision she disagrees with. She can’t name one newspaper she reads. She can’t name one founding father she most admires. (Coincidentally her response to the last two was “all of em.”) She’s as much of a bafoon as Joe Biden (and that’s saying something) but she’s a decently attractive woman and she’s a Republican. I’m not sure there’s been a better left-wing media target since Bush took office.

False equivalence.

Many of the Rockefeller family politicians are a lot smarter, better spoken, more precise, and clearer thinking than Sarah Palin is.

Because somebody needs to fill the “stupid republican” role. Now that Bush is out of the spotlight, Palin is the next best thing.

I don’t think Bachmann is much smarter than Palin, and I’m beginning to think Obama isn’t much smarter. I used to think Bernanke was trying to screw things up on purpose, but then I read about his views on inflation so I now I believe he’s just not very bright.

I’m always going to believe that Bush is smarter than he looks and that he did everything on purpose, though.

Anyway, I concur with the other posters–the liberal MSM hates her because she’s a conservative female, the same reason they hate conservative blacks. It frustrates the hell out of the MSM when they see conservative women and conservative ethnic minorities.

You’re spot on with this comment.

Basically, the left is like the Borg. According to them, Palin is a female and should want to side with the left. Basically, it’s similar to de Beauvoir’s “other” concept. They view “the self” to be the establishment, which is anthropomorphized as the white, conservative male. Anything different is established as “the other,” and if you are different than “the self” yet you identify with qualities they associate with “the self,” then they view it almost as a form of betrayal.

The thing is, the more true to herself that Palin is, the more they hate her. That basically sums it up. The left is all about destroying western culture; merely destabilizing it for the purpose of disestablishmentarianism. They are anti-conformists, and anti-conformity is just as bad as conformity. In either case, you are determining your actions based on others’ actions and are thereby not being true to yourself.

You say the liberal media, I say the media of liberal elitists. Liberal elitists hate nothing more than working class culture, something Sarah Palin likes to appeal to.

Attacks on Palin are not just a matter of strategy. They are also a matter of passion.

These people sincerely despise “rednecks” and honestly think themselves better than them because they read newspapers, don’t go to wacky churches and other totally unremarkable stuff like that. Sarah Palin is like a red cloth to them.

They criticise Palin more because they can’t stand “rednecks”, than because they can not stand Republicans.

I am inclined to agree.

There are plenty of leftish politicians with silly attributes and the “liberal” media doesn’t mock them. So it’s not because she’s particularly mockable.

Here’s my theory: 1. She’s a victim-class (woman), but a Republican. Which the left can’t deal with. Victim classes are supposed to be Democrats, that’s how it works. So in a way Sarah Palin doesn’t fit into the lefts preassumed worldview, so they want her gone.

I find it funny because de Beauvoir a major influence for modern feminism. Go figure. :3

I agree with this assessment. She’s just way too easy of a target. They see her as an idiot and so its possible that she’s a George W Bush part II, and as proof positive that all republicans and their supporters are stupid.

Its also a great distraction to avoid actually debating about issues like foreign policy. Why spend time talking about how Obama has a thirst for blood when you can say “Hey look at those republicans! See how stupid they are!? lol at least obamas not STUPID! amirite folks?”

Do you believe you can read minds? No? Then stop acting you know other people’s views better than you know theirs.

Sarah Palin is an incredibly stupid woman, and there are justifiable grounds for thinking that many other politicians are smarter than her.

Well, I wasn’t denoting causation or lineage, just similarity. But you speak the truth. She was a worthless communist as far as I remember, and she gives great perspective into how messed up the left is. Like Dr. Savage regularly says, “Liberalism is a mental disorder.”

Was this supposed to be a response to me?

I never said anything counter to this. I just said all of that stuff makes her an easy target. And yes, if people actually hate those things, it’s easier to ostracize the person using those things as ammunition, no? Is it easier to demonize drug dealers because there’s some kind of “strategic advantage”, because you get more of the public’s disposable income if they don’t spend it on drugs, or are dealers easily ostracizd because of how people feel about drugs and the act of dealing?
