Why does a guy, who was helped by welfare, and says it is “sometimes necessary”, run on the ballot as a libertarian? Is he a vulgar libertarian that you guys seem to talk about?

In other words, its okay to steal if its for a good cause.
Libertarianism has been diluted a lot. There are plenty of “libertarians” who believe in welfare and the like.
Because once a party is on the ballot, you can’t really stop someone from running as a candidate of that party if they meet all the legal requirements, no matter what their actual beliefs are.
Government regulation of political parties has diminished the value of party labels.
