While I am not really into the whole conspiracy thing, there is a documentary comming out on the IFC called “new world order” about people who believe in the NWO. It looked like they may have took a pot shot on the right to bear arms as well. This seems much more targeted at the people than the ideas presented, though from the 15 sec commercial I could be wrong. Does anyone know anything about this?
IIRC it’s these guys who hung around with Alex Jones and basically documented him and his whole schtick.
I think the premise that people “believe in a NWO” is a silly as “people believe the world is round”. There is a NWO, it has been documented, it is the agenda at the highest levels of the EU, SPP and UN. So IMO, anyone who doesn’t believe in a NWO is naive or uninformed.
Now whether the ultimate goal of the NWO is as Jones believes, eugenics and mass genocide, that I do not pretend to know. A lot of these people are elitist statists and they do have some pretty far out views on environmentalism and sustainability. They are not big fans of freedom or the social good.
They are not complete fools either; I think slavery is more than an apt excuse to not go overboard with de-population, with slavery & fascist control of the markets providing the “trickle down coercion & murder” that might eventually thin out the heard without losing labor & raising costs, vis-a-vis state-market genocide (goodness, I almost sound like a marxist of some sorts here [:O] ), although at this point, the markets would be completly fascist, and would be far more regulated than they are now.
I had always raised my eyebrows at that kind of stuff but what you say is usually fairly trustworthy. You got some sources on that?
Yeah, all’s anybody has to do is listen to the nut former U.S. Sec. of State Kissinger and his recent interviews such as on CNBC (mainstream U.S. cable news) or on Charlie Rose a PBS show (Public Broadcasting System), and some newspaper editorials he’s written. Kissinger says Obama is good to bring in a New World Order. Or listen to PM Gordon Brown, he says New World Order and how this is a good time to implement it almost every week. It’s not like they hide it.

Yes and no. I’m not big into the NWO stuff, but I am aware of it.
From the top of my head, you can look up Carrol Quigley, David Rockefeller, the afore mentioned Kissinger, and pretty much any speech Gordon Brown gives these days.
You can always look into the SPP (NAU). Check out the UN’s LOST.
I kind of dig the NWO. My ideal of government has always been a highly decentralized world state with minimal powers, although I’m not naive enough to think that current efforts are going in that direction.
I also agree that the NWO exists, but frankly, it is hardly a conspiracy. There is and will be a tendency towards global governance, not the least because the growth of free trade has created the perception that power is slipping out of the hands of the state(s).
Or has internalized the “people who talk about the NWO are insane,” meme. It’s kind of funny how sometimes such an easily empirically verifiable statement as “the Trilateral Commission does exist,” can be taken as signs of being a kook or paranoid.
My favourite is when you get these right wing fanatics who are like, “Reagan was the best President ever!”
And they mock you for mentioning the CFR or Trilateral Commission.
And Reagan ran in the primaries with a subplatform of investigating the Trilateral Commission.
Or how anyone who has read Barry Goldwater’s Conscience of a Conservative thinks such talk is conspiratorial, when Barry himself said,
The Trilateral Commission is international and is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power – political, monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical.
Such is cognitive dissonance.
I’m just wondering if this documentary is going to be a subtle attack on libertariansim. Progressives have been getting a bit more vicious with libertarians latley. Of course I am only assuming this is made by a progressive film maker, I may be 100% wrong on that assumption.
An attack would mean the libertarian profile has improved.
Although Alex Jones is not a libertarian. He’s whatever entertains his audience on any given day.
I’m guessing the documentary will be a smear, and I’m guessing it’ll link those who believe in the NWO to anti-semitism.
Alex Jones is a Populist, zealous youtube version of Rush Limbaugh.
Populism is pretty vauge though, so I suppose it could Progressives, although the populistamerica site has been publishing some fairly pro-libertarian articles for a while (from Rockwell, etc,)
I agree 100% with that statement on alex jones. However it seems as if progressives are in the infancy phase on an attack on libertarians. There was the harvard conference and then the whole “ron paul supporters may be domestic terrorist” thing. I am just wondering if the documentary is going to show a cult like, obsessive compulsive behaviour of these people, and the film maker will drop the libertarian name once in a while.
‘International Jewish bankers’ or some such. The history channel already did a similar peice with that premise.
That’s a bit harsh. Hes always been a libertarian leaning paleocon in my view. At any rate, I personally view him more as an ally to us than an enemy, even if he does get a little bit ‘out there’ sometimes.
He’s about as libertarian as Pat Buchanan. If you listen to his show, it is a mishmash of doublethink about constitutional government and conspiracy.
He embellilshes to the point that anyone intelligent will think he is an idiot, and he’s become disgustingly self-aggrandinzing lately (I MADE RON PAUL, I MADE RON PAUL). His line is, “hundreds of thousands and millions”.
2 articles about biochips, and he’s saying, “there are hundreds of thousands and millions of articles”
His videos get 150,000 views on YouTube, and “there are hundreds of thousands and millions of views”.
One caller called in last Thursday or Friday, and called out Alex (nicely) about how Alex said something was in an article that was not, and it made this person look bad because they tried to tell other people, and was shown to be lying because he believed AJ.
So AJ screams at him, hangs up on him, and then goes on for 1/2 an hour about how he (AJ) is a victim because people "worry about the little things (apparently accuracy in reporting is a little thing).
I listen still because there isn’t a lot else to listen to, but the guy is a big joke, and he treats serious issues so ridiculously I don’t think he is helping us as we try to educate people about economics, philosophy and liberty.

Dude, this is so like him. When I accidentally stumbled upon Jones in late 2006, I was quite intrigued by his roughneck, straightforward kind of show. If you have no clue whatsoever (which I did by then), you’re being drawn into his whole mindset, even if your original position is much different from his. It just frightens you so much what he has to say, you believe anything he tells you. I was shaking when I learned about this guy, Eric Pianka, who publicly announced he’s in favor of culling the human population by 90%. Or that the secret societies thing that I had heard vague rumors about is actually true.
After a while, though, you follow his advice to “google for the documents” and find none. At first, you think it’s your fault. Then you notice that this tends to happen every time you do it. You realize how much of a self-righteous attitude Jones has, and how he likes to talk about himself primarily whenever the opportunity arises. And, of course, his cult-like fellowship of die-hard listeners who will defend his every action.
Jones is a good guy. He has created a place with a great amount of information to be discovered. But that doesn’t mean he’s the bedrock of the Republic, though he appears to consider himself exactly that.
He’s a nationalist and a protectionist. He is a big Alexander Hamilton fan.
He’s not a perfect Austrian, but he’s good on history and his values are in the right place. I’d take him over Carson and the other LLs any day of the week.
Moreover, according to LRC he became Austrian after reading The Meltdown or something like that.
