Ah, now I see. Jones’ overbearing nationalism sometimes scares me as well. I remember the time when he wanted to prosecute people who publicly talked about abolishing the Constitution. So much for his libertarian stance on free speech.
No. Alex wants whatever he thinks people wants to hear at any given moment. He’s great at being a libertarian when Ron Paul is being interviewed, great at being a pro-American nationalist when Webster Tarpley is being interviewed. If you listen to him often enough, you can hear him contradict himself.

I have listened to some of his Tarpley interviews…I have never heard Alex talk about wanting big government or wanting an overseas empire or wanting war… you seem very reasonable in your other posts…and very well informed… you should give Alex a break…I think he’s a guy who talks about this stuff all the time…never gives himself a break… he’s one of us…he believes in liberty…
Either way, the documentary should have just focused maybe on jones, or given a more specific title, instead of the misleading title New World Order. It seems like a somewhat intellectually dishonest exercise, not that I am suprised.

Doesnt really sound like Jones is agreeing with him, more like he is summarizing his guest’s beliefs. He does that even with people he strongly disagrees with (The Zietgiest guy).
Well, I’ve found the audio of Alex talking about the issue, but without any obvious prosecution claims. I guess my rant was unfounded. I’d have to apologize. Still, in this very section, Alex valiantly defends the nation state when the objection arises that it has led to massive civilian casualties in warfare - a Hoppean position that he obviously disagrees with. Then he goes on about how globalization is actually bad, but capitalism good.
I just don’t know what to make of the man. Is he an America-Firster? Some sort of Buchananite?
Well, when Jones and the like used the term ‘globalism’ they usually mean it in the NWO-sense, IE global government.
Yes, in some sense I would say he is an America First type, but the good kind of American Firster (1940s isolationists). Buchanan is on his show alot. But economics aside I personally also like Buchanan, he is sharp as ever on foreign policy. I recall he was probably the only political commentator to spread the truth of the Georgian invasion of South Ossetia last year, not to mention supporting both countries secessions. For all his flaws, I find it pretty easy to chear him on when he talks like that.
I fail to see why it is important to establish some one’s personality/authenticity/motives. All that matters are the words and ideas being put forth, the mouthpiece is irrelevant. I think everyone on this thread is against protectionism, who cares if Jones is or is not? Hell, Chomsky may be one of the most obnoxious/ disingenious SOBs out there, but he still has a decent thing to say on foriegn policy every so often.
